May 20, 2015 - Drove south today to our next destination, Burgau, Portugal. This is on the southern coast of Portugal and is a sleepy little town that has a beautiful beach a few places to eat and drink and not much else. A very good place for us to stay a while. The weather is great, the view from the apartment that we rented is awesome and we can day drive to other places around here. It is interesting driving down streets that are barely big enough to fit a car, especially when another car comes from the opposite direction. I love challenges!
May 21, 2015 - Drove into Lagos, Portugal to get groceries and see the "big" town. It is amazing that a place as pretty as this is can be this low priced for everything.

Went for a walk along the coast. Our apartment is at the end of the paved roads and any further is very rough dirt roads that go along the coast, but walking is not a problem.

May 22, 2015 - Today we went for a ride along the coast heading west to the southwestern most point of Portugal. This country is very low priced, beautiful and clean. I expect that a major boom of tourism is heading this way when the world discovers this gem.

For those that want to follow our Europe trip or are geographically challenged, Below is a highlighted map of our travels to date. Starting in the top left at Amsterdam, then to the right to Germany, Poland and down through the Czech Republic, back through Germany to Amsterdam where we dropped off the rental car. Then south to Paris where we picked up our new car. Following a path to the left and down through France and Spain and finally to Portugal where we are now. At the bottom left portion of the map.
May 23, 2015 - Just a walk along the coast of Burgau.
May 24, 2015 - Stayed in and relaxed today. Enjoyed the scenery from our apartment balcony and read a book.
May 25, 2015 - Went for a ride out to the coast outside of Lagos. What a beautiful place!

May 26, 2015 - Stayed in today to enjoy our last full day here at this great place. Enjoyed a very good dinner at the restaurant that is part of the apartment complex.
May 27, 2015 - Drove to Seville, Spain.
May 28, 2015 - Toured town on foot and on a "hop-on hop-off" bus. Nice clean town with interesting sites, but it was very hot.
May 29, 2015 - Traveled to Malaga, Spain, actually the suburb town of Mijas. This was a golf and spa resort that we stopped at as a resting place and it was attractive in that it was only $25 for the night. The room was actually a 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment with a very large balcony. The problem was that the view from the balcony was nonexistent. It was of a house under construction. But the room was comfortable and a good rest stop.
May 30, 2015 - Traveled to Cartagena, Spain. Took a wrong turn at the outset and went about 90 miles out of the way. However, it was beautiful scenery through the mountains on small roads. Arrived in Cartagena late afternoon on Saturday and we are in the heart of town and it is alive with activity. Went out for a walk, dinner and gelato. Great weather and very nice town. Will put photos in the next installment so that I do not run into problems with the size of the blog.
